Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is our special pleasure, in the name of the Macedonian Microbiological Society, to invite You to come to Ohrid. Your participation will represent a great contribution for this Symposium and Congress to become scientifically enriched and unforgettable.

More than 350 participants from 14 (fourteen) countries in Europe, from the field of Medical and Applied Microbiology have already registered for the meetings. We believe that the numerous plenary session lecturers from the different European countries, as leading authorities in special fields, represent a guarantee for the scientific contribution of the Symposium and Congress.

The Macedonian Microbiological Society (MMS), a member of the Macedonian Medical Association, exists since 1986, and has 60 full and 10 associate members. Since 1994, the MMS has become a full member of FEMS (Federation of European Microbiological Societies) and of IUMS (International Union of Microbiological Societies) as well, whereas since 1999 it has become a member of the Balkan Society for Microbiology and our Society has been its member since the very beginning of its establishing initiative.

The Congress will be held in the ancient town of Ohrid, a national treasure under protectorate of UNESCO, situated on the shores of the beautiful Ohrid Lake, one of the oldest in Europe. We hope that beside the satisfaction with the scientific program, we will manage to make You acquainted with all the beauties of Macedonia, and the hospitality of the Macedonian people, which may be worthwhile to remember and may be a reason for you to come again.
